Welcome to Mas Fuertes

A hobby that grew into an excellent estate for premium organic products.

In 2005, a Dutch family began their search for an idyllic spot for a holiday home and fell in love with the enchanting Empordà region. High on a mountain top, with breathtaking views of the sparkling sea and surrounded by lush nature, they found the perfect piece of paradise for their dream estate.

What started as a modest project to produce wine for our own use quickly grew into a full-fledged business. Today, Mas Fuertes includes an extensive range of red and white wines, 100% Argudell olive oil which is single-use and cold-pressed with the best Italian machines and delicious organic honey without added sugar, produced by our own impressive population of 3 million bees.

Despite the impressive growth the estate has experienced, Mas Fuertes retains its undeniable charm. Many of our processes are still carried out by hand, such as carefully picking and sorting grapes and olives, and obtaining our precious honey.

In the summer our bees migrate to the Pyrenees, where they find cooling in the milder climate. Meanwhile, the process begins in our vineyards, where we apply organic farming practices with love and respect for nature. Synthetic chemicals are avoided in favor of natural methods, such as using organic compost and using beneficial insects to control pests.

The harvest is a crucial moment, where only the best grapes are selected by hand and carefully processed in our winery. Here our wines are fermented naturally, without the addition of commercial yeasts or synthetic substances. The result? Authentic, characterful wines that reflect the unique taste of Empordà.

At Mas Fuertes we believe in the art of winemaking, where tradition and innovation go hand in hand. While our wines mature in oak barrels, we ensure that they are manipulated as little as possible so that their integrity is preserved. In 2023, we even experimented with fermentation in concrete and sand vats for our white wines, adding new dimensions of flavor and complexity.

Our love for the family character of the estate is reflected in every aspect of our process. The labels were designed by the youngest daughter of our family, so that with every sip you experience not only the taste of the wine, but also the unique atmosphere of our estate and everything that goes with it.
